With this brightly illustrated handbook, podcaster Albert (Let’s Talk About Myths, Baby!) puts her classical education to work. There’s an overview of Greek mythology, followed by clear, fact-packed two-page essays on deities, heroes, and mortals. Each entry is broken into sections with titles like “What’s His/Her Deal?” and “What You Need To Know.” Art deco–inspired full-color illustrations by comic book artist Richard (The Royal Book of Oz) accompany about half of the entries.
VERDICT Greek mythology is of enduring interest, and readers aged 10 and older will enjoy this selection.
