VERDICT The fifth entry in Kratman's series (after The Amazon Legion) maintains its high standard of graphic and strategically detailed military sf while featuring numerous side stories that add depth to the main plot. Fans of the earlier books and of the military fiction of John Ringo and David Weber will enjoy this series continuation.
