Cinderella Masquerade: A Western Opposites Attract Romance

LaQuette (One Night Expectations) brings her perspective to the multi-authored, long-running “Texas Cattleman’s Club” series, after An Ex to Remember by Jessica Lemmon, with this hidden identity twist on “Cinderella.” Dr. Zanai James feels too shy and awkward to flirt, but emboldened by a masquerade, she shares a heated evening with Jayden Lattimore. Fearing that the attraction will end if he knows the real her, she flees the party. But Jayden can’t forget and is determined to find his mystery woman, no matter what. Like many LaQuette books, the relationships between the main characters and their friends provide a depth to the romantic relationships, allowing readers more insight into their actions. The central relationship is well-drawn, and readers will delight in the growth both exhibit throughout.
VERDICT Readers will enjoy this trip back to Royal, with check-ins on the subjects of several former books and a preview of what is to come.
