After being passed up for a promotion, L.A. advertising executive Beatrice Archer needs a change, and Credence, CO, is about as different from Los Angeles as you can get. Initially lying low, binging on sugar and episodes of Supernatural, Beatrice finally ventures out and finds a sense of belonging in the small town full of fun, friendly people, and one in particular with whom she wants to be more than friends. Austin Cooper may be 10 years younger than Beatrice, but the likable local lawman charms her instantly. Is theirs a lasting connection, or will Beatrice be tempted back to the big city when her old life comes calling? Andrews (Playing It Safe) offers a funny, flirtatious contemporary romance. Language and love scenes are occasionally explicit, and narrator Mia Barron brings a note of maturity that perfectly portrays Beatrice’s sensibility and sensuality. Her playful performance yields an engaging and alluring listening experience.
