Annie Bot

Annie Bot is an android who was manufactured to satisfy all of Doug’s emotional and physical needs. From cleaning to cooking to sex, Annie does everything in her power to please Doug, and she does a good job of it, even if her work sometimes isn’t up to his standards. All the while, Annie learns and grows, using her AI to examine consciousness and explore what it means to be human. She soon turns her gaze on herself, wondering who she is and what Doug truly wants from her. Greer’s debut novel is a haunting exploration of humanity, the implications of AI, domestic abuse, and power differentials within relationships.
