A Thousand Recipes for Revenge

In the Kingdom of Verdania, the rulers are Gods-ordained, and their legion is filled with those granted magical epicurean powers from the Five Gods, whether those “Chefs” wanted such powers or not. Adamantine Garland, who deserted from the legion 16 years ago, makes a living as a baker, hiding her power and protecting her grand-mère. But now Ada and her grand-mère find themselves on the run from assassins. Meanwhile, young Solenn is a princess in a strange land, ready to celebrate her betrothal to its prince and thus their countries’ peace. She discovers a plot by a rival country to kill her fiancé and blame her—a discovery made by her own burgeoning culinary magic, the same magic as her birth mother, Ada. As Ada and Solenn find themselves on intersecting paths, they must figure out who is set against them on a path of revenge.
