Meagan (Jesse McGinn) and Jonathan (Robert Hartburn) move into a palatial farmhouse in Australia with great views and abundant nature. Soon, creepy circumstances begin to cast the pastoral paradise in a decidedly sinister light. Meagan's beloved feline companion Nook goes missing, and Meagan becomes convinced that eyes are peering in at them from just behind the tree line. They soon discover a menacing note that indicates someone is playing a game with them, and they encounter a mountain man and his youthful ward living in the nearby woods who seem to hold an irrational grudge against the household. It could still just be a harmless joke, but the lovers might finally get concrete proof of evil intent far too late.
VERDICT This effective microbudget slasher emphasizes mystery over gore to create crackerjack tension.
