Siskind delivers a great read in this second entry in her “Bower Boys” series (following
50 Ways To Win Back Your Lover). False names, fake background histories, lies galore—these are all just part of being in the Witness Security (WITSEC)program. Yet, Desmond and his family will soon be free of it all, since the threat that put them into hiding has been neutralized. For Desmond, freedom means reuniting with Sadie and getting to know his 10-year-old son Max, all events he never thought would happen. Told from Desmond’s point of view, Siskind does an excellent job developing a detailed story line, while staying true to the heart of the love story. Readers can pick up this second installment in the series without having read book one; they might miss a few details, but this book easily works as a stand-alone.
VERDICT Suggest that fans of Colleen Hoover, Taylor Jenkins Reid, and Lucy Score add Siskind’s latest to their to-be-read piles.
