Libraries are examining new institutional and consortial resource sharing options to meet the needs of their users. This involves investigating modern technological approaches to easily expand their resource sharing network, within and outside of any consortia they may be a part of, and to deliver a superior user experience.

Join this in-depth conversation where you’ll gain a deeper understanding of two consortias’ strategic approaches to resource sharing and how their member libraries are leveraging Ex Libris Rapido. The session will highlight the consortia-wide model embarked on by the California State University system, where all of its institutions are leveraging Rapido, along with the institutional-select model selected by the Orbis Cascade Alliance. We’ll hear about their experiences of adopting Rapido, why they believe it enhances the user experience, and details on their expanded resource sharing networks.

Speakers:

Sydney L Thompson, Interim Dean of Libraries, Central Washington University

Lori Hilterbrand, Program Manager, Resource Sharing & Fulfillment and Discovery & User Experience, Orbis Cascade Alliance

Stacy Caron, Interlibrary Loan Coordinator, California State University, Fullerton
