Erickson’s latest is a fun, well-paced cozy mystery with a memorable protagonist and cast of supporting characters. Recommended for readers who enjoy Lilian Jackson Braun’s “The Cat Who…” series or the novels of Donna Andrews and Krista Davis.

While cat yoga may be an extremely cozy activity and setting for a novel, Erickson (“Bookstore Café Mystery” series) also offers a vexing murder mystery that will unsettle and intrigue readers. This series starter quickly piles up the tension and conflict and establishes a main character who’s worth rooting for.

A Christmas cozy for fans of the series, but not a standout from the usual holiday crime fiction fare.
