Driving home through a thunderstorm, reporter Moira Harrison gets lost and, after swerving to avoid hitting a pedestrian, runs into a tree. Right before she blacks out, a stranger opens the car door and tells Moira he'll call for help. Confusion ensues when she wakes and finds herself still alone in the car, no help in sight. She tries to tell others what happened that night, but nobody seems to believe her, including the police. Can it be that someone is trying to keep what happened that night a secret?
VERDICT This fast-paced, suspenseful series debut novel is typical Hannon ("Guardians of Justice" series), a blend of action and romance, and is sure to please her fans. Recommend it also to those who enjoy titles by Dee Henderson.
