Beginning with the rules of the kitchen that state “there are no rules” and “safety first,” among others, she advocates for a well-stocked pantry. “Tools of the Trade” covers mixing bowls, baking pans, and others tools that will help kids get started. Baking strategies are presented along with cookie tips (use a scoop) and the toothpick method for doneness. A Help Hotline offers advice. Highlighted recipes include chocolate cut-out cookies and coco cabana cereal squares. There are also cheddar chive biscuits, German chocolate cake waffles, and donut shakes.
