License To Shift

Forever Yours: Grand Central. (Grizzlies Gone Wild, Bk. 2). Oct. 2016. 288p. ebk. ISBN 9781455540952. $1.99. PARANORMAL ROMANCE
Mark Robertson is awakened from a deep sleep by an unknown human female visitor, Julie Simon, ringing his doorbell. Bear-shifter Mark (The Bear Who Loved Me) is in danger of going rogue because his inner-bear is slowly taking over. Upon waking, his bear is in charge, which means that he is horny and dangerous. The frank description of the bear's thoughts and the process of the human mind regaining control are hilarious and illustrative, especially since Mark doesn't realize he is naked when he opens the door. What follows is a doomed romance between Julie and Mark, as Mark will soon become all bear. Mark, who has been helping Julie's father with his research, senses that there have been intruders at her Dad's cabin. Before Mark can figure it out, Julie is kidnapped by the returning cat-shifter villains.
VERDICT This second series installment from Lyons (The Makeover Mistake) helps connect the worlds of humans and shifters. The emphasis on mate bonding continues and acts as a traditional focus and convenient lever for the romantic action; recommended, but readers should begin the series at the bear-gining.
