The last place Colin Wright wants to be is back in Icicle Falls, especially for his grandmother's funeral, and he definitely doesn't want to see Mia Blair, the girl he once thought he loved. But Grandma Justine is still calling the shots, and when her will sends Colin and Mia on a treasure hunt to find their inheritance (with no outside help allowed), the barriers between them begin to crumble, and they are forced to recognize their true feelings. The past and present are linked by a series of well-done flashbacks, and chatty letters from Grandma are a bonus.
VERDICT Engaging, sweet, and dusted with humor, this emotional romance tugs at the heartstrings as a headstrong pair who were always meant to be together find their way back to each other. Simple and satisfying. Roberts (Christmas on Candy Cane Lane) lives in the Pacific Northwest.
