Join Tricia Bengel, Technical Services MLS-Degreed Librarian, as she helps reshape your thinking on the library users’ experiences and how to be responsive to your patrons’ current needs. She will help move your tech services departments toward the 21st century by tackling these three subject areas:

  • How to involve patrons in our decision-making.
  • How to rethink technical services in light of shifting collections.
  • How to catalog in a Google world.

Speaker Bio: Tricia began her library career at the age of 15 as a page in her hometown library. She worked there summers and weekends throughout high school and college, earning her MLS from the University of KY in 1996. Tricia has served as Director of Technical Services at the Tennessee State Library and Archives and Assistant Director of Collections and Technology Services for Nashville Public Library for several years, including one year as Interim Director.  Most recently, she returned to the vendor side of things to work for Ingram Library Services, where she is again traveling the country talking to librarians.  In 2012, Library Journal named Tricia a Mover and Shaker for her work starting Limitless Libraries.
