Coffee To Head RAILS, Pack To Direct Alabama Public Library Service, and More Library People News

Bill Coffee was elected Board President of the Reaching Across Illinois Library System (RAILS); Doug Crane was promoted to Director of the Palm Beach County Library System, FL; Nancy Pack was appointed Director of the Alabama Public Library Service, Montgomery; and more new hires, promotions, retirements, and obituaries from the October 15 issue of Library Journal.

Don W. Barlow, Executive Director of the Westerville Public Library, OH, was named Hall of Fame Librarian by the Ohio Library Council. He has been in his position for 25 years.

Stacy L. Brown was named Assistant Director of Conyers-Rockdale Library System, GA. She was previously a Librarian at Georgia Highlands College, Dallas.

Bill Coffee, Treasurer of the La Grange Public Library, IL, was elected Board President of the Reaching Across Illinois Library System (RAILS). He had previously served as Vice President of RAILS.

Doug Crane was promoted to Director of the Palm Beach County Library System, FL. He was previously Director of the Branch Public Service Division.

Orolando Duffus was appointed Diversity Resident at University of North Carolina Libraries, Greensboro. He received his MS in Library Science from North Carolina Central University, Durham.

Emily Ginier was named Informationist at Taubman Health Sciences Library, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. She was previously a Librarian at Ohio State University’s Health Sciences Library, Columbus.

Ramona Grimsley was named Digital Projects Librarian, Berkeley County Library System (BCLS), SC. She was previously Special Projects/Public Relations Librarian at BCLS.

Anne Krakow was named Director of the Post Learning Commons and Drexel Library at Saint Joseph’s University, Philadelphia. She had been serving as Interim Director since June of this year.

Ingrid Norris was promoted to Director of the Lake County Public Library, Merrillville, IN. She had been its Assistant Director since 2012.

Nancy Pack was appointed Director of the Alabama Public Library Service, Montgomery, following the retirement of Rebecca Mitchell . Pack was previously Branch Chief of the Maryland State Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped, Baltimore.

Maura Smale was appointed Chief Librarian at the Ursula C. Schwerin Library at New York City College of Technology, City University of New York (CUNY). She was previously Associate Professor and Information Literacy Librarian.
