Love on Lexington Avenue

Sparkling dialog helps to buoy a story that otherwise could overwhelm readers with details about New York high society. A strong female friend group helps this closed-door contemporary romance distinguish itself. An appealing choice for romance fans who also enjoyed Lauren Weisberger’s The Devil Wears Prada and Sarah Morgan’s “From Manhattan with Love” series.

Someone Like You

Fans of Layne's series (Irresistibly Yours; I Wish You Were Mine) who have been anxious for Lincoln's story won't be disappointed, while newcomers will be motivated to dive into the author's backlist and read the stories of this group of friends. Lincoln and Daisy's tale is expertly crafted, full of wit and heart. Layne is equally adept at writing heartbreaking portrayals of grief and scenes of steamy passion that will get hearts racing. Exemplary contemporary romance.

To Love and To Cherish

A love-wary heroine who needs to be in control and a smart hero who won't concede finally get their own happy ending. This heart-melting story is the perfect conclusion to Layne's enjoyable series. Layne (For Better or Worse) lives in New York City.

Broken: A Redemption Novel

This fast-paced, plot-driven novel from Layne (Isn't She Lovely) meets the definition of new adult fiction. There is a lot going on among characters at the beginning, leaving readers to wonder if there is a story here. After a couple of chapters, though, it all starts to come together as Olivia and Paul must decide whether they will help each other out. Ultimately, a solid tale and a quick read, with plenty of steamy romance and sex.

Just One Night

Riley and her reactions to men are certainly not endearing, and the similarities to the film How To Lose a Guy in 10 Days are a bit off-putting. In the end, though, Riley wins readers' hearts, and the supporting cast of girlfriends provide the necessary comedic relief. Recommended for most romance collections.
