Enlightening Twitter with Library 2.0 Ideas
Edited by Josh Hadro -- Library Journal, 05/15/2009
In a tongue-in-cheek response to the Library 2.0 phenomenon, the Library 2.0 Idea Generator randomly produces sentences composed of Library 2.0 themes, phrases, and proper names with sometimes serious, sometimes silly verbs.
“I kinda felt like anything that was different from the norm was being labeled 'Library 2.0,'” explained creator Dave Pattern, a 2009 LJ Mover & Shaker.
After three years of posting the sentences on a web page, Pattern recently linked the generator to Twitter. The service now sends out its 2.0 ideas every half-hour to the account.
So what was its inaugural tweet on April 22? “Bow down and pay your respects to the 2009 Movers & Shakers by hooking them into a web service.”
