RITA Awards for best Romance publishing announced at RWA annual conference

The Romance Writers of America (RWA®) took a huge bite out of the Big Apple with its 31st annual conference, held at the Marriott Marquis hotel in New York, June 28–July 1, 2011. The culmination of the week's events was the presentation of the RITA® Awards for best romance of 2010 in 12 categories and the Golden Heart® Awards for best manuscript.

And the RITA® winners are:

REGENCY HISTORICAL ROMANCE: The Mischief of the Mistletoe by Lauren Willig (Dutton) (LJ 10/1/10)

HISTORICAL ROMANCE: His at Night by Sherry Thomas (Bantam) (LJ 6/15/10)

INSPIRATIONAL ROMANCE: In Harm's Way by Irene Hannon (Revell) (LJ 4/15/10)

YOUNG ADULT ROMANCE: The Iron King by Julie Kagawa (Harlequin Teen) (SLJ 4/10)

CONTEMPORARY SERIES ROMANCE: Welcome Home, Cowboy by Karen Templeton (Silhouette Special Edition)

CONTEMPORARY SERIES ROMANCE: SUSPENSE/ADVENTURE: The Moon That Night by Helen Brenna (Harlequin Superromance)
