-- Library Journal, 05/18/2010
Making a building a green building is just the start of library leadership of sustainability, says Louise Schaper. The recently retired director of the Fayetteville Public Library, AR (LJ's Library of the Year 2005), instilled green practices throughout the library, further reducing the LEED Silver building's carbon footprint and planting the library firmly in the lead on sustainability for the community.Schaper talks with LJ's Rebecca Miller about what drove the changes in LJ's May 15 cover story, "Lead with Green," and describes how she did it in "Let 'Green' Creep," in the Spring issue of Library By Design.
