Library-centric arm set up under Rich Rosy

Francine Fialkoff -- Library Journal, 06/18/2009

  • Organizational structure announced
  • "Market-focused" organization
  • Services to libraries, publishers grouped

Some three weeks after the integration of Ingram Book Group, Ingram Digital, and print-on-demand Lightning Group into Ingram Content Group, CEO Skip Prichard announced the formation of a "market-focused" organization that centralizes services within the group by content creation and content delivery, or "destination."

As a result of this structure, all library services, whether for public, academic , or K-12, will be under the leadership of Rich Rosy, who joined Ingram two years ago from OCLC NetLibrary. These include Ingram Library Services, Coutts (for academic libraries), and MyiLibrary (Ingram Digital).

Prichard says the new centralization "will help us serve libraries and retailers better and make us more library-centric." Rosy will report to Shawn Everson, chief commercial officer for the library and retail channels.

Services to publishers include Lightning Source, Ingram Digital's CoreSource, Ingram Marketing Group, Ingram Publisher Services, and Ingram Book's buying department. Chief Content Officer Phil Ollila will lead this new publisher-focused organization.
