Qualifications: ALA-accredited MLS required, with additional degree or course work in management or administration preferred. Ten years of progressively responsible public library experience, at least six of which have been at the senior management/administrative level; demonstrated ability to work successfully with elected officials; proven public library management and leadership ability; successful record in budgetary planning and control; substantial experience in library building design and maintenance; knowledge and understanding of current library technology; knowledge of the principles and current practices of public library collection development; expertise in strategic and tactical planning techniques; demonstrated commitment to public service; demonstrated commitment to teamwork, staff development, open communication; experience in employee relations; excellent public relations and communication skills; ability to be a library advocate in the community and to work with the Library Foundation to accomplish its goals. Compensation Package: Full benefits package; starting salary negotiable from $130,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
