LJ Design Institute Dallas: "Going Green"

LJ Design Institute
In partnership with the Dallas Public Library

For its sixth cycle in the GOING GREEN series, Library Journal Design Institute moves to Texas for a one-day think tank on green design, plus an optional tour of Dallas Public Library's new LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) libraries (please scroll down for schedule and RSVP information). We'll bring together leading architects, designers, librarians, and vendors to hone in on the challenges and solutions we face in creating environmentally and economically sustainable libraries. In addition to panels and breakout sessions , we'll hear from Louise Schaper, recently retired Director of the Fayetteville (AR) Public Library, on "Management by Wattage, Or How I Learned To Live Beyond LEED," and Dallas City Manager Mary Suhn, a one-time branch manager at Dallas PL, now a force in the city's green initiatives. With every Green Design Institute, we've taken a leap forward in knowledge and understanding, but there is so much more we can learn from these experts and each other. Get face time with the experts, and learn the latest developments, options, costs and strategies being adopted.

We'll also reprise one of the most successful features of the day: each attendee will have the opportunity to participate in two hands-on breakout sessions with architects. The focus of the breakout sessions will be design challenges submitted by attendees prior to the event.

REGISTER FREE TODAY! Limited to 100 attendees, the seminar is for those considering a new building project or renovation, in the fundraising or pre-bond stage, or in the early building process.
