| BookExpo America (BEA) is so close that you can hear its heart beating (check out our preview and Barbara Hoffert's Galley and Signing Guide). Though hundreds of publishers and thousands of attendees—including an army of librarians—again will descend on Manhattan's Jacob Kavits Center from May 23–26, remember that books are not just on paper. Audio publishers will be displaying their wares, so be sure to give them some love, too. Check out the Audio Publishers Association Conference, too. Don't forget to rest your aching tootsies, get refreshments, and meet some authors in the LJ/SLJ Librarians Lounge (#2052). See ya there!

Now Hear This
LJ's Media Editor Raya Kuzyk, who resigned effective May 13 to pursue her dreams, leaves us with her final thoughts on the current state of audio, including availability, the library/retail divide, timeliness issues, and more. For the past three years, she shepherded our Media section, enriching it with innumerable features, including audio publisher/reader Q&As, top audio titles, and news and views on audio and movies, along with columns on music and gaming. more >>>
