Worthington Libraries New Campaign

July 5, 2009 Bubble Room goes on location to visit Lisa Fuller, director of community relations and development for Worthington Libraries. Worthington is a prosperous and active community surrounded by Columbus, Ohio. It also happens to be my hometown. The Worthington library was my home away from home and truly fostered my love of books.

Lisa reviews their latest promotional campaign, Find Yourself Here. Lisa talks a little about the campaign in this video, which is charming and clever. Plus it emphasizes the importance of good design in effectively communicating a message. By the way, the reference to
More Cowbell comes from a well known Saturday Night Live skit with Christopher Walken.

Lisa shared with me some of the posters from the campaign as well:

Library Funding Update
: I just received word from sources at the statehouse that a third (!) budget extension may be in the works. Apparently the Governor and the legislature can't come to agreement over the implementation of slot machines, which the Governor has proposed will fill part of the $3.2 billion state budget shortfall.
