Scully as Gellhorn
July 2, 2008

Today is the 47th anniversary of Hemingway’s unfortunate end, and I was thinking about him this morning (I’ll hoist one to you later, my friend) as word comes from Variety that former X-Files star Gillian Anderson has bought the rights to Caroline Moorehead’s biography, Gellhorn: A Twentieth Century Life.
For once I’m not going to carp over casting. I loved Anderson as Agent Scully on X-Files and think she’s a solid choice to play Martha Gellhorn, Ernesto’s third and worst wife. It was quite firring that they were together during World War II, becuase it's the event that most resembled their tempestuous marriage.
I'm interested to see who is cast as Hemingway (so I can complain about it).
