Good News Alert: NPR Expands Book Coverage
July 1, 2008

In an era when newspapers are cutting back or eliminating their book review sections, our good friend Calvin Reid at Publisher's Weekly reports that National Public Radio is expanding book coverage on its web site, NPR.org, adding weekly book reviews, hiring six new reviewers, including John Freeman, the former president of the National Book Critics Circle who led last year's campaign to save newspaper book review sections; Jessica Crispin, founder of the literary blog Bookslut.com; and Laurel Maury, a freelance comics and graphic novel reviewer; and adding other book-focused content. So be sure to link the NPR site to your library's website as a useful additional RA and collection development resource.
