"Lost" Beatles Track May Get ReleaseNovember 19, 2008 Don't worry, it's not "Real Love."Paul McCartney is keen to finally release "Carnival of Light," a near-legendary artifact amongst hardcore Beatles fans. The improvised 14-minute track—consisting of mainly organ drone, percussion, electronic treatments and Lennon and McCartney's non-sequitor screams—was put together during sessions for Sgt. The song has never been properly released, not even for the Anthology boxed set. ![]() The release of this piece would—coincidentally, of course—shore up the avante garde credentials of Paul McCartney, usually seen as the band's smilin' song-and-dance man. To be fair, though, he was the first Beatle to experiment with tape loops. Posted by Matthew Moyer on November 19, 2008 | Comments (3) Industries: Audio Reviews
