Google Voice: Are You On Speaking Terms?

June 26, 2009 Don PardoSo Google is rolling out Google Voice -- "a service that gives you one number for all your phones, voicemail that is easy as email, and many enhanced calling features like call blocking and screening, voicemail transcripts, call conferencing, international calls, and more" over the next few weeks (GrandCentral users have access now, the rest of us will soon). As blase as I've been about a number of new technologies, the iPhone included, Google Voice has captured my interest. I'm aware of many of the pitfalls (take a look at PC World's article, "Google Voice: 5 Reasons to Use It, 5 Reasons to Think Twice" for more info.), but their review of the new product makes me drool for it -- it does sound really cool, and useful.

I'd love to hear from anyone who is already using it -- is it weird, wonderful, or woeful? Please let me know.
More as it happens, Googley,
Cheryl
