Use Twitter? Check Out dm fail!

December 29, 2008

An American robin (photo credit en:User:Mdf, used under the GFDL 1.2+ license)If you use Twitter you may find it informative to visit dm fail! … some tweets were destined for fail, a site that highlights messages senders meant to be for the eyes only of the recipient, but which end up in the public eye because the sender sent them incorrectly. Check out the Favorites page; it’s particularly enlightening.

If you’re thinking about using Twitter, you may also find it informative to read Michael Arrington’s December 28, 2008 post on TechCrunch, “DMFail: Another Reason To Just Not Send Private Messages On Twitter” – since it tells you the correct way to send a private message (and gives you some background on Twitter use, too).

My bottom line on this is: people send such private messages over any online system? What are they thinking?!!???

More as it happens, as if it’s on a billboard,

Cheryl
