ASP’s Civil War Images Goes Live

You can search the file by Title, Caption, Keywords, Date (e.g. 1863), Place (e.g. Richmond, Virginia), Battle/Campaign/Event (e.g. Overland Campaign), Setting (e.g. Exterior), Photographer/Creator (e.g. George Barnard), Image Type (e.g. Photograph), Publisher, and Contributor, and you can also browse the collection by image themes and formats (Camp Life, Casualties, Cultural Figures, Entertainers, and Socialites, Fields and Forts, Home Front, Hospitals and Prisons, Military Regiments, Units, and Staff, Transportation, Weaponry, and the Navy, Political and Military Leaders, Posters, Envelopes, and Ephemera, Studio Portraits and Unknowns, and War-torn Cities) and by dates (from 1861 through 1865).

 

Do take a look: it’s an important, fascinating collection of photos and ephemera.
