The Blackwell Encyclopedia of Sociology Online includes 1800 definitions and explanations of the key concepts in sociology, with expanded essays on major topics within the field and a time line of over 600 key events in sociological history.
Searchable by subject, people, periods, places, and topics, it is updated three times a year, with the latest (sixth) update adding entries on Bosnia; Education; Humor; Incest; Juries; Pragmatic Acculturation; Prestige; Schizophrenia; Transport and Development; and the Whole Foods Market. In the seventh update (scheduled for April 2009), entries will be added for Public Sociology; Sociocide; Wittgenstein, Ludwig; and the World Bank.
