This Beats My Local Borders
July 14, 2008

Publicity photo for US aluminium salvage campaign, 1942This bookstore built within a renovated church building in Holland looks a lot more upscale than my local Borders, but then again, it does remind me a bit of the library I work in -- both take one's breath away. If you'd like to see more about the bookstore, here's a link to a recent Guardian article about it. And if you'd like to see the article that got me to the bookstore project in the first place, take a look at "7 (More) Amazing Adaptive Reuse Architecture Projects: From Ship Houses to Chapel Bookstores" at the WebUrbanist site (a very cool site that almost always has something interesting and/or provocative on it).

More as it happens, suitably reused,
Cheryl
