ABC adopts 'Find My Family' show
ABC has picked up six episodes of the relationship reality series "Find My Family."

ABC has picked up six episodes of the relationship reality series "Find My Family."
Show, from RelativityReal and RDF USA, follows the stories of people desperate to find a long-lost relative or friend.
Based on the Dutch format "Lost Without a Trace," the show was retitled "Find My Family" for the version in Australia -- where it has turned into a big hit.
"It's one of those rare, feel-good shows that has cross-generational appeal," said RDF Media USA chief operating officer Tony Yates. "There won't be a dry eye by the end of each episode."
Two different reunions are featured in each episode, as participants reveal what happened to their relationship -- and cameras follow them as they meet up with their long-lost relative, friend or love.
Former NFL linebacker and "A Current Affair" anchor Tim Green will host along with entertainment reporter Lisa Joyner.
RelativityReal's Tom Forman exec produces, along with RDF's Chris Coelen, Greg Goldman and Yates. Julie Laughlin-Jones also exec produces.
"What we love about the show is that the emotion is really earned, and it's honest," said ABC alternative series/specials/late-night co-topper John Saade. "It isn't big, contrived moments. We're not looking for train wrecks."
Saade said he believed "Family" fit in with other ABC reality series such as "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" and "Supernanny."
"It feels like an ABC show, there's a lot of soul here," Saade said.
