In this Issue

A week from BookExpo America and LJ's move to its new headquarters, things are crazy here at the office. This issue is a testament to our focus. If you're lucky enough to attend BEA, take Barbara Hoffert's insider author-and-galley guide, not to mention local librarian Tara Lannen-Stanton's amazing "food trails." I can't sign off without saying thank you and good-bye to longtime intern Jessica Roy, who compiled this newsletter's Starred Reviews column. See you at 160 Varick.—Heather McCormack, Editor (follow me on Twitter at @hmccormack)

  • 35 Going on 13: Brotherly Love
I do not have a brother, which is probably why I am so drawn to books about them. The brother-on-brother story is one of the oldest in literature—going back to Cain and Abel—and also one of the most popular themes in books for teens. With so many to choose from, I narrowed the list to a few recent, and not-so-recent, favorites. more » » »

POLL

The Washington Supreme Court recently upheld a library's policy not to disable Internet filters upon request by adult patrons. (For more, see bit.ly/bOOPsN.) What's your take?
The library's solution seems like a practical compromise.
The library's compromise could only work if they unblock sites faster.
It's an undue burden on patrons to have to ask to get sites unblocked.
The ruling to treat filtering as a "collection decision" is wrong.

If you're attending next week's BookExpo America, be sure to drop by LJ's Librarians' Lounge (booth # 4383), complete with chairs, tables, and couches. Complimentary refreshments will be served all day, and the Book Review editors will be in attendance.

Publishers, note that starting June 1, you should submit all books for review to LJ at 160 Varick St., 11th fl., New York, NY 10013.
