Alistair Black has been hired as a professor by the Graduate School of Library and Information Science (GSLIS) at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. Most recently, he was a professor in the School of Information Management at Leeds Metropolitan University, UK. His scholarly interests include the history of libraries and information, public librarianship, and library buildings and architecture.
John Ellison, professor at the Master of Library Science program at the University of Buffalo (UB), retired December 31 after 38 years of service to UB. Ellison was a recognized scholar in the areas of intellectual freedom, media/audio-visual librarianship, and distance education. He has been awarded four Fulbright scholarships.
Anne Ziegler Krakow is the new associate director of public services and programming at the Francis Drexel Library, Saint Joseph's University, Philadelphia. She formerly was the associate library director at ArcadiaUniversity, Glenside, PA, and librarian at the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York.
