Susan Malbin has joined the American Jewish Historical Society (AJHS) to solidify the organization’s role as the leading repository for historically relevant materials about American Jewry. As the AJHS director of library and archives, Malbin will steward AJHS’ existing holdings, boost online access to archives, and acquire materials “born digital.” The AJHS archives include more than 20 million documents and 50,000 books, photographs, art and artifacts that reflect the Jewish presence in the United States from 1654 to the present. Malbin most recently was a senior program officer at the Institute of Museum and Library Services, a federal agency, where she was responsible for National Leadership Grants in the library field…
Stuart Hinds is the new head of special collections in the University of Missouri-Kansas City Libraries, which includes the Dr. Kenneth J. LaBudde Department of Special Collections and the internationally known Marr Sound Archives. Hinds previously served as manager of the Corinth Branch of the Johnson County Library, Prairie Village, KS.
