Prudence Dalrymple is the new Director, Institute for Healthcare Informatics, Philadelphia, a joint effort of Drexel University's College of Information Science and Technology (CIST), College of Nursing and Health Professions, and School of Public Health. She was appointed to the CIST faculty in January.
Laurie Gemmill has been named Digital Services Program Manager at PALINET, Philadelphia. She most recently was Senior Implementation Manager at OCLC.
Barbara MacAdam has been appointed Associate University Librarian for Public Services at the University of Michigan (UM), Ann Arbor. She was Head of Reference and Instruction at UM.
Frank Patterson has been named Development Supervisor for the Maricopa County Library District (MCLD), Phoenix. He most recently was an Adult Services Librarian at MCLD's North Valley Regional Library.
Sonja Sutherland is the new Reference Librarian and Instructor of Library Science at Odum Library, Valdosta State University, GA. She was a student Reference Specialist at the University of Washington, Seattle, while completing her MLIS.
Ian Wilson, Librarian and Archivist of Canada, was elected President of the International Council on Archives (ICA) for a two-year term. He replaces Austrian Lorenz Mikoletzky, Director-General, Austrian State Archives.
Fara Zaleski has been named Public Library Consultant in the Networking, Development & Planning Department of the Alabama Public Library Service (APLS), Montgomery. Prior to that, she was the head of the Alabama Regional Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped for 20 years. Her replacement is Dana Pritchard, also of APLS.
Obituary
Rebecca Craven, who worked at the Cincinnati Public Library for 30 years, has died; she was 76. She began in the audiovisual department, eventually becoming Head Librarian of that area and, later, Director of the Arts and Music Division.
Mary Radmacher, former Director of the Skokie Public Library, IL, has died at the age of 92. She began her career as Skokie's Director in 1956. She oversaw a major expansion of the library building in 1972; she retired in 1985.
