Book News: AAP Hosting Book Editors Online and Unscripted Webcasts

Michael Rogers -- Library Journal, 8/6/2008 7:46:00 AM

  • Book editors will present their fall favorites
  • Two webcasts daily from September 16–25
  • Q&A moderated by PW chief follows each session

To help publishers better market their books and generate greater sales in an era where reading has become a casualty and review space and book coverage is shrinking, the Association of American Publishers (AAP) July 31 announced the launch of a webcast series dubbed Book Editors Online and Unscripted that will take to the net this September 16–25. AAP said that the series will feature “two editors each day presenting upcoming titles that have inspired them, followed by a Q&A moderated by Sara Nelson, editor-in-chief of Publishers Weekly.” The 30-minute presentations will be webcast live, in real time, allowing interested booksellers and media to follow them on the Internet, call in, and ask or type questions to participating editors immediately following the interview.”

Librarians interested viewing a schedule or in participating can register for any of the sessions here.
