SirsiDynix Report Corrected

John Berry & Francine Fialkoff -- Library Journal, 7/3/2008 7:58:00 AM

Further investigation has revealed that inaccurate information from several industry sources was carried in the report on SirsiDynix that appeared briefly on the Library Journal website June 30 and July 1. Because of those inaccuracies, LJ has removed that story from the website. LJ originally reported that U.S. employees of SirsiDynix were required to sign a six-year noncompete agreement. LJ has now confirmed that the actual term of these agreements was only two years. The agreement reportedly prohibits those who leave the company from working for a competitor or in a library that is a customer without being granted a waiver from SirsiDynix.
