- For beginning students, service now supports K-3
- Adult learners also now targeted
- No personal accounts needed
Online tutoring service Tutor.com June 26 announced that it has extended the age range of its Live Homework Help program. Starting August 1, Live Homework Help will support students ranging from Kindergarteners through adult learners. The company said that “expanding one-to-one tutoring and homework help to more students is the natural next step” in its development, asserting that “younger and younger children are making use of computers to learn and explore their world just as adults turn to technology to help them with everything from GED preparation to résumé writing.”
To use Live Homework Help, students need an Internet-connected Mac/PC either in the library or at another location; they neither have to download software nor start a personal account. Students log on anonymously using their library card number and are connected to a live tutor certified in the appropriate grade level and subject matter. Tutors and students simultaneously use online tools like a chat window, a white board, file sharing, and web-site sharing, “to engage in a learning experience which helps the student solve their specific challenge.”
