Polaris Adds ChiliFresh Engine

By Michael Rogers -- Library Journal, 6/15/2008

Polaris Library Systems is partnering with ChiliFresh.com to integrate the latter's ChiliFresh Review Engine with Polaris PowerPAC. According to the vendor, the engine “provides an interactive forum for patrons to write and post book reviews and read reviews from library patrons around the world.”

Users will see starred ratings and reviews, as well as prompts to write their own reviews, which appear directly in PowerPAC.

“ChiliFresh gives library patrons what they want, a voice,” commented Scott Johnson, ChiliFresh's business development VP, adding that the partnership provides “integrated Web 2.0 solutions for Polaris's customers.” Polaris CEO Bill Schickling asserted that “library patrons are used to this type of social interaction and collaboration on many commercial web sites.”
