Sirsi Releases Web Reporter 1.5
By Michael Rogers -- Library Journal, 6/1/2008
SirsiDynix has released Web Reporter 1.5 for its Horizon 7.4.1 integrated library system. The vendor said Web Reporter is designed to work with Oracle, Sybase, Microsoft SQL, and DB2 SQL databases and can “run predefined reports” as well as “create and customize reports.” The new release features “dashboard reports, more than 180 modifications to metadata, and the upgrade to MicroStrategy 8.1 functionality, including interactive dashboard capability.”
Users also “will be able to report immediately on data collected with new Horizon 7.4.1 functionality for transit materials and top circulation.” The upgrade includes the option to have objects moved from the existing 1.4 project into the 1.5 release. This includes locally created reports, custom groups, filters, and metrics.
Docutek ERes 5.5
Additionally, the company has released the Docutek ERes 5.5 e-reserve system. Built on a Microsoft.NET framework, the system offers multilingual translation capabilities, including into languages not using roman characters. “[Part of] the new language support,” SirsiDynix said, “is a new interface that makes it easy to replace labels and messages within the product to accommodate local terms. The word course, for example, which is meaningful in many environments might be more clear as class or group in some environments. The new interface makes it easy to search for and replace these terms within the product. ERes 5.5 also addresses an issue that had created system instability in response to very large file uploads.”
