Southampton UK Adds Ex Libris

By Michael Rogers -- Library Journal, 5/15/2008

Southampton Solent University (SSU) has contracted with Ex Libris (UK) for the Aleph® integrated library system, which will be replacing the university’s existing solution, and the Primo discovery and delivery solution to serve as the interface for the entire library collection. The university also plans to implement the vendor’s SFX® Open URL link resolver, the MetaLib® gateway and metasearch solution, and the Verde® e-resource management system.

Situated in the city of Southampton, on England’s south coast, SSU is one of the UK’s newest universities. It offers more than 200 qualifications, ranging from a higher national diploma (HND) to the doctorate degree, to its 16,000 students in subjects such as maritime education and training, fashion and design, media and television, sports and leisure, and more.
