Book News: Consortium To Distribute Profile Books

Consortium Book Sales & Distribution, a member of the Perseus Books Group, has announced that it will be distributing Profile Books’ frontlist (history, memoir, current affairs, business, popular science, and some fiction) for the fall 2008 season. Based in London, Profile is one of the largest independent publishing houses in the UK. Profile’s U.S. backlist will continue to be distributed by Trafalgar Square Books through December 2008.
In 2003, Profile published its first million-seller, Eats, Shoots & Leaves by Lynne Truss, and was named the Small Publisher of the Year at the 2004 British Book Awards. Profile is the only UK publisher to win the title of Small Publisher of the Year three times. In 2007, Profile Books acquired Serpent’s Tail, also a Consortium client publisher.
