- Rowling set to testify today in Manhattan’s U.S District Court
- Will have private security guard in the court room and spend breaks in secluded jury room
Author J.K. Rowling won a Galaxy British Book award, and now she’s hoping to win in an American court. Rowling is set to testify today in Manhattan’s U.S. District Court in a copyright suit she and Warner Bros.
studio filed against RDR Books to stop the publication of The Harry Potter Lexicon written by librarian Steve Vander Ark. The local press reports that Rowling’s attorney has arranged for her to have a private security guard at her side while in the court room and to be secluded in a jury room during breaks to keep overzealous Potter heads at bay.
Although the author praised the Lexicon web site, she says the printed book offering the identical info is a “‘rip off’ of the type I have spent years trying to prevent.”
