Auto-Graphics has signed a contract with theColorado Nexus library consortium for the installation of its AGent VERSO™ integrated library system. Nexus consists of 42 school libraries and eight public libraries. The Colorado Nexus libraries are opting for Auto-Graphics' software as a service (SaaS) delivery model, a completely hosted solution that includes full system support, maintenance, and updates, “allowing the libraries to focus on expanding patron and student services without the additional cost and complexity of tackling technical support issues internally,” the vendor said.
AGent VERSO will provide both staff and library patrons with web-based, permission-enabled access to all relevant information, resources, and services offered by each member library, including staff modules. The system is built on AGent™, an open and standards-compliant platform that provides the Colorado Nexus library consortium with the ability to integrate additional functionality, such as federated searching and digital collections, as their needs evolve.
Telephone Attendant
Additionally, Auto-Graphics recently released AGent Telephone Attendant, an automated phone system for 24/7 book renewal, account checking, special announcements, and more. The vendor provides complete system setup and software implementation, including outsourced host facilities management, hardware, communications, and system monitoring. “All recorded messages are completely configurable, giving libraries the option to record special messages and offer patrons the ability to hear a summary of their account, including balances, reserves, and checked-out and overdue items,” the vendor said.
