ProQuest has struck a deal to add bibliographic records from LexisNexis's American State Papers and U.S. Congressional Serial Set to C19: The Nineteenth Century Index. “Direct linking from C19 to these resources will provide mutual customers with a single point of access to even more diverse content types and sources for researching the 19th century,” ProQuest said.
The United States Congressional Serial Set and the American State Papers cover more than 131,000 congressional and executive documents issued from 1789 through 1901.
The records reflect all aspects of American life, from westward expansion, Indian affairs, politics, and international affairs to business and manufacturing. The documents include both of Washington's inaugural addresses (1789 and 1793); presidential messages on Indian tribes, their future location, and government (1825); the resolution of inquiry into the invasion and seizure of public property at Harper's Ferry, etc. (1860); and much more.
