Innovative Interfaces is in a New York state of mind: the vendor March 19 announced that it had signed a contract with the New York Public Library (NYPL) for a suite of Millennium products. The vendor additionally inked similar deals with the Frick Art Reference Library and libraries of the Museum of Modern Art and the
Brooklyn Museum. In additional to Millennium, NYPL will install Encore, Innovative’s discovery service platform. “This is the first time that the library’s two catalogs will be unified and accessible to the public as one,” said David Ferriero, NYPL’s Mellon director.
The art museums libraries, which are founding members of the New York Art Resources Consortium (NYARC), will offer access to their joint collections through a shared catalog, for a combined total of more than 725,000 records of books, periodicals, auction and exhibition catalogs, artist files, photographic collections, and archival materials. Innovative said that the Frick will host and administer the NYARC shared system.
