Nominations Sought for ALA/IIDA Interior Design Awards

Libraries that have completed interior design project between October 1, 2005 and October 1, 2007 are invited to submit their projects to the biennial ALA/IIDA Interior Design Awards, sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and the International Interior Design Association (IIDA). Launched at the ALA Annual Conference in New Orleans in 2006, the awards honor public, academic, and special libraries, each in two size categories, plus an outstanding historic renovation project, innovation in sustainable design, a single space, and a project not yet under construction.
Award winners must demonstrate excellence in aesthetics, design creativity, function, and satisfaction of the client’s objectives. The deadline for submissions is March 31; for more details, see see entry form. The designers and clients will be honored at the ALA National Conference in Anaheim, CA this June. Projects will gain coverage in Contract Magazine, ALA’s American Libraries, and LJ.
